AROMATHERAPY AND ITS BENEFITS FOR RELAXING THERAPIES

Foto

Aromatherapy, being an alternative therapy, provides benefits to the human body, based on the perception of smells produced by different oils, diffusers, flavorings, etc.

Aromatherapy is directly linked to the sense of smell since it is responsible for perceiving smells, through sensory olfactory cells, which convert smells into small chemical signals that are identified by our brain, thus causing a state of relaxation in our body.

Essential oils are extracted directly from plants, shrubs, flowers, herbs, spices, and seeds. These are formed by vaporizing the plant, shell or seed and then cooling it to make it liquid.

It is important to take into account the following aspects:

  • What type of oil is used and its method of diffusion since some oils are not suitable for the skin and can cause burns and irritations.
  • They should not be ingested
  • They should be diluted in conductive oils or water
  • The dosage depends on the sensitivity of the person to achieve the desired effect
  • Citrus oils produce photosensitivity in the skin
  • Should not come into contact with eyes
  • Its use should be moderate with pregnant women and children
